Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead is a rougelike sim game that makes you think its a zombie game but it's actually fifteen different kinds of cosmic horror. It's open source and anyone can make changes, which isn't as bad as it sounds but still pretty bad.
It's one of those games that I started playing and got hooked immediately. Like, badly.
I started streaming it on twitch, because having a timer of how long I had been playing, and occasional company, helped me to not be playing videogames at the neglect of other responsibilities like eating.
And then I started to have an audience. A small one, but enough that I wanted to lean a little harder into the roleplay,
